  • Microsoft's Xbox Series S console survives a house fire, proving its durability and quality.
  • Despite losing its exterior case, the console still functions properly, with the power button and games saved on its SSD intact.
  • Priced at $299, the Xbox Series S offers impressive build quality and serves as an affordable entry into the 9th-gen gaming console market.

Microsoft's most popular 9th-gen console shows off its cheap price is not its only superiority, as the console has survived a house fire and remains fully functional. Well, we wouldn't believe it either without proof, but the owner of the console recently shared a video of their burned Xbox Series S working quite well, despite being heavily damaged.

As Twitter user "DemiZe LY" claims, a close friend of theirs experienced a devastating house fire in Libya recently, but despite all the damage done, the house owner managed to find their Xbox Series S console which has clearly lost its white exterior case due to the high temperature. But surprisingly enough, the console still works, as you can see in the Twitter video below.

The console's interior metal case has clearly been die-hard enough to resist the extreme temperature, keeping the core hardware safe as well as the exterior ports. There are some fascinating facts to focus on in the video above though. While some parts of the metal case are damaged, the console's power button still functions normally.

Although the console is not connected to the internet while being tested, we can see that there are multiple installed games, which means this incredibly resistant Series S has not even lost the data stored in its SSD. Not to mention that the controller is also connected wirelessly to the console, confirming that there are no connectivity problems either.

Such a build quality for a console priced at $299 is quite magnificent. Although the Xbox Series S stands behind its big brother and the PlayStation 5 when it comes to hardware capabilities, this small console has already become Microsoft's wild card in the current generation of gaming consoles.

There were recently reports of developers blaming the Xbox Series S for holding back this generation of consoles from running much superior games graphics-wise. No matter if it's true or not, Xbox Series S is a cheap entry to the 9th-gen gaming for players all around the world, and besides that, it can now apparently survive crazy high temperatures as well. But we don't recommend exposing your console to this kind of heat, as there's a high chance this user simply got lucky.

Later this year, Microsoft will release a new version of the Xbox Series S that comes with 1 TB of disk space. The new all-black console will launch on September 1st, just in time for the release of Starfield on September 6th.
