In the Simulated Universe created by Herta, you'll come across seven different Aeons on your adventures. These Aeons have rich backstories, and are the leads of each Path found in Honkai Star Rail.

Each of these Aeons are considered godlike beings, with many people being unsure of their history and their intentions. We will give you a brief history on each of the Aeons, and their relevance to their Path.

Qlipoth: The Preservation

Qlipoth is the Aeon of The Preservation, also known as the 'Amber Lord'. They are known as the oldest Aeon alongside Oroboros the Voracity. Qlipoth looks like a giant piece of amber, and not a lot is known about this Aeon. They seem to always be busy creating a wall, although no one knows for sure why they do this. Luckily for them, though, many consider Qlipoth to be the one 'true god' and refuses to speak ill of them.

The characters who follow The Preservation Path of Qlipoth include Gepard, March 7th, The Trailblazer, and Fu Xuan.

Fuli: The Remembrance

Fuli is known as the Aeon of The Remembrance, often keeping out of sight and being particularly enigmatic, similar to Qlipoth. Fuli appears as a somewhat human-like figure, made purely of crystals. Many seem to believe that when Fuli appears, good events are bound to occur. Though not much else is known about them, they have heavily influenced important figures including Louis Fleming, the founder and lifetime honorable Board member of the Interstral Peace Corporation.

There are currently no playable characters on The Remembrance Path, so it seems that Fuli is on their own.

Aha: The Elation

Aha doesn't have the best reputation as the Aeon of The Elation. Many have said that the Aeon likes to mess with mortals and cause chaos. Aha enjoys creating random experiments, including giving human-like intelligence to a Noblesse Worm. It seems obvious why there aren't any current playable characters following this Path, as they would probably not make it out alive with Aha on their side.

Aha's relationship with other Aeons is also not the best, as they only ever seem to want to mess with the Aeons. Otherwise, they feel as if there's no point in interacting with the rest of the Aeons.

Lan: The Hunt

Lan is one of the few Aeons in the game that often appears before mortals, though it is hard to make out what they actually look like due to their intense speed. As the Aeon of The Hunt, Lan has a strong disdain for Yaoshi of the Abundance, due to the undead creatures created by them called the Denizens of Abundance. Lan also used to be a regular mortal, leading the Xianzhou army against the Heliobi.

The Hunt has a few characters following its path, including Dan Heng, Seele, Sushang, and Yanqing. Those following The Hunt are some of the best Main DPS characters in the game, with powerful single target strikes.

Nanook: The Destruction

As the leader of The Destruction Path, Nanook appears before people as a very human-like figure, with glowing golden eyes. Nanook is one of the youngest Aeons, and many believe they destroyed their home of Adlivun with their own hands. It seems that wherever Nanook goes, pure chaos follows right behind.

The Destruction is one of the first Paths you'll play with in the game, as the Trailblazer follows this Path from the start. Along with them, you also have Arlan, Clara, and Hook. There will be a few upcoming Destruction characters as well, with Blade and Imbibitor Lunae eventually making their way to the platform. These characters will also serve as a powerful Main DPS, with the ability to create destructive single and multi-target attacks.

IX: The Nihility

Image of the Aeon IX the Nihility and their backstory in Honkai Star Rail.

IX might be the most unassuming and peaceful Aeon in existence. You won't find them appearing before humans often, and they prefer to keep to themselves as they believe there isn't much significance to Paths and life itself. However, a group of humans planned to assassinate IX, all with the help of Aha the Elation. This isn't much of a surprise due to Aha's trickster-like behavior, but the attempt of course failed miserably.

In The Nihility Path, you have the characters Pela, Sampo, Silver Wolf, and Welt, as well as the upcoming characters Kafka and Luka. This Path consists mostly of applying debuffs to enemies, so they are usually the one to provide support and avoid taking the front lines, just as IX would do.

Yaoshi: The Abundance

Image of the Aeon Yaoshi the Abundance and their backstory in Honkai Star Rail.

Finally, we have Yaoshi, the Aeon of The Abundance Path. This Aeon is certainly in a moral gray area, with many praising Yaoshi for bringing prosperity to each new world, but their Abominations of Abundance creation has led both the Hunt and the Alliance to chase after them until the ends of the earth. Yaoshi has provided many gifts, especially to the Xianzhou, but this has led to many a war as others greedily wished to receive Yaoshi's gifts as well.

Following the Abundance Path, we have Bailu, Luocha, and Natasha, as well as the upcoming character Lynx. These characters are almost strictly healers, providing HP restoring abilities to keep the team alive on the field.
